This includes using a new needle and syringe for each injection and avoiding the reuse of equipment that is intended for single use.  
4. Environmental Cleaning and Disinfection: Regular and thorough cleaning and disinfection of the hospital environment, including patient rooms, operating rooms, and other areas, are essential to reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infections.  
5. Patient Isolation and Cohorting: When necessary, isolating patients with contagious infections can prevent the spread of pathogens to other patients and healthcare workers. Cohorting, or grouping together patients with the same infection, can also be an effective strategy.

Reusable equipment and supplies should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected according to the manufacturer’s instructions, and disposable options should be discarded immediately after use. Regardless of their specific hospital protocols, it is important for healthcare workers to stay up to date on the latest infection control guidelines to ensure the safety of patients and themselves.
