Positioning the Patient: Patient is positioned in supine with head elevated to align with the spine. Arms are tucked or secured at patient’s sides with palms facing in or extended on armboards with palms up. Buttocks are even with the lower break of the bed with hips neutral. Legs are placed in stirrups or leg holders at an even height.
