AliMed Founds AliCares Nursing Education Fund
Presents $5,000 in Scholarships to Students at Brockton Hospital School of Nursing
Dedham, Mass.—AliCares, a charitable community service initiative of medical supplier and manufacturer AliMed, Inc., announced today that Brockton Hospital School of Nursing is the inaugural recipient of its Nursing Education Fund award, selected to support local nursing students who could use financial help.
Brockton Hospital named students Kirk O’Reilly, Anita Monteiro, Alyssa Warren, Rebecca Sherman, and Francisca Monteiro as the first scholarship recipients, all actively enrolled in its nursing program and demonstrate community commitment and academic merit.
“We are absolutely thrilled that AliCares has chosen our nursing program for this inaugural gift,” said Jean Marie Gouveia, MS, RN, CNE, Dean of Brockton Hospital School of Nursing. “We are very proud of our students and the dedication they continuously exhibit in bettering their community and their profession. This extra financial boost is a great affirmation of those efforts.”
As one of the core pillars of AliMed’s newly established AliCares program, the Nursing Education Fund was created to honor the selfless daily efforts of nurses who represent the backbone of the healthcare community that AliMed has supported since its inception over 50 years ago.
“We are delighted to introduce this important initiative and celebrate a very deserving group of nursing students as they pursue this rewarding career,” said Alexandra Cherubini, Chair of the Board of AliMed, founded by her parents, Barbara and the late Julian Cherubini. “The creation of this fund is grounded in AliMed’s commitment to ‘helping people help people’ in the healthcare community and a natural extension of our long-standing family tradition of supporting education.”
Each fall, the Nursing Education Fund will present scholarships to accredited institutions in good academic standing and donate medical products and equipment to each selected school based on their program needs.
Since its inception in early 2021, AliCares has donated volunteer hours to each employee, enabling them to serve local organizations, including the Dedham Food Pantry, Friends of Boston’s Homeless, Community Servings, Cradles to Crayons, City to Saddle, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, and 110 Fitness.
